With its quintessential Bowery speakeasy feel, Von has been hosting revelers since 1996.
The Main Room offers hand-crafted classic cocktails, fine wines, select craft beers, and a gold-tinged atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for regulars and sojourners alike.
Parties of up to 20 people can be accommodated in the Main Room if the reservation is for 6pm or earlier.
With the capacity for up to 150 guests, a full service bar, a raised stage, lighting rack, state-of-the-art DJ & AV equipment, comfortable seating, coat check, private party and catering options, the Lounge is the perfect venue for your next event.
The Lounge is located on our lower level and accessible by a secret staircase at the back of the Parlor, as well as a private street-level entrance.
Join us weekends for weekend DJ fun, attend one of our exciting weekly musical or comedy events, or book the Lounge for your own private soirée! Lounge bookings are for 40 guests or more.
Also known as the “Back Room,” the Parlor can be reserved for parties of up to 40 guests as long as you begin your reservation at 7pm or earlier. Grab your drinks at the bar in the Main Room and head to the Parlor for gatherings large and small, for privacy, cozy seats and dim lights.

Wine Tour
Hosted by Charles von Herrlich, our co-owner & wine expert, wine tours are more party than tour. Charles has been studying wines for purchase and pleasure for over two decades. With his trusty sidekick, he will present a delightful, entertaining class, that includes 5 - 8 tastings, pairings and a take-home quiz!
Cocktail Class
During this fun and informative 2-hour class, one of our expert bartenders will teach you the art of crafting fine cocktails. You will learn the pillars of cocktail preparation: proportion, precision, dilution, and presentation. We will build a minimum of 3 cocktails each, taking time to understand the ingredients and why and how they are blended; to measure precisely using jiggers and spoons; to mix properly by stirring, or shaking; and finally how and why to garnish.

Inspired by a reading series at a haunted bar on the Bowery, Bowery Gothic is a literary journal seeking to publish the highest quality literature and art. We look for stories—both real and imagined—that exist in that liminal space: between the seen and unseen; between entertainment and fear. We are excited by work that stands at the threshold and looks into the unknown. We are excited by the sublimity of terror.
We are not interested in gore, violence, or perversion. Instead, send us literary work that transcends genre, that scares us and makes us think: Damn, that was fresh. We are drawn to literature that conjures up tales told by our favorite writers—from Henry James to Kelly Link; Shirley Jackson to Octavia E. Butler—stories that entice, amaze, terrify.
Find that sweet spot where literary work soars to an unexpected place or where the unexpected is beautifully told. Be it a tale about ghosts, aliens, monsters, alternate universes, dystopias, paranormal behavior, tell us a story. Take us to the edge.
Literary agent Jennifer Lyons and writer and longtime NoHo bar owner Kaarin Von introduce Hydra at Von Bar, a new literary series presenting an eclectic mix of acclaimed writers of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, memoir, and poetry.
Von at Hydra Bar kicks off on November 15th at 7pm with the launch of the graphic novel, Einstein in Kafkaland: How Albert Fell Down the Rabbit Hole and Came up with the Universe by New Yorker cartoonist Ken Krimstein. Reserved seating available for this event. Once seats are filled, standing room is available on a first come, first served basis. RSVPs highly recommended to ensure your spot!
